Presidential candidates from the ruling and opposition parties heard the tip of the “lower-evil presidential election” at the YS memorial ceremony

On the 22nd, a group of presidential candidates attended a memorial service for the 6th anniversary of the death of former President Kim Young-sam (YS) held at the cemetery of the National Cemetery in Seoul National Cemetery.

Four opposition candidates, including Democratic Party Lee Jae-myung, People’s Strength Yoon Seok-yeol, Justice Party Shim Sang-jeong, and People’s Party Presidential Candidate Cheol-soo Ahn, sat side by side in the front row of the memorial service and drew attention. Former Deputy Prime Minister of Economy Kim Dong-yeon, who declared a challenge to the presidency in the 3rd Zone, also attended.

When Candidate Lee reached out and asked for a handshake at Candidate Yoon who had arrived first and was seated, Candidate Yoon smiled and patted Lee’s left arm for a while, chatting for a while. Candidate Yoon was also seen listening to the story by listening to Candidate Lee.

Candidate Lee said in his memorial service, “Since college, I thought that fighting for democracy and the end of injustice on this land was worth learning for the rest of my life. You’ve done a lot,” he said.

He also said, “I think that making it impossible for the military to usurp power is something that will go down in history.”

After evaluating the democratization movement, Candidate Yoon said, “When I was in college, there was a case of the injunction of the president of the New Democratic Party and the expulsion of a member of the National Assembly. “A government made a decision that was difficult to make, and it drastically reformed Korean society,” he said.

Candidate Ahn Cheol-soo said, “I will work hard while remembering the spirit of national harmony and unity.” promised

Kim Dong-yeon, former deputy prime minister for economy, said, “I will make the vested republic a country of opportunity” in support of former President Kim’s commitment to ‘breaking the vested interests’ such as the suppression of the Hanahoe.

On the other hand, Kim Deok-ryong, chairman of the memorial committee, said to the presidential candidates of the ruling and opposition parties, “Many people say that (next year’s election) is an ‘election that chooses the lesser evil.’ “I feel guilty in front of President Kim Young-sam who spoke of national unity.”
