Prime Minister Kim Bu-gyeom said at a meeting of the Daily Recovery Support Committee today, “Once the approval is decided, we can choose another vaccine, and it will help to further increase the vaccination rate.”
Regarding Pfizer’s oral treatment, he said, “It will be introduced for the first time tomorrow and will be put directly into the medical field for COVID-19,” he said.
At today’s meeting, the government is planning to discuss together measures to reorganize the quarantine system to respond to social distancing and Omicron, which ends this weekend.
Prime Minister Kim said, “Omicron has a relatively low aggravation rate, but its transmission power is two to three times higher.”
He continued, “While discussing quarantine measures, it is indispensable to support small business owners and the self-employed who are having difficulties in their livelihood. The government will actively review it,” he said.
