Prince Philip’s Memorial Service | Kate Middleton, Duchess of Cambridge, shows up in retro style in the 1980s, showing Princess Diana’s shadow

The Duchess of Cambridge Kate Middleton and Prince William have returned to the UK after their Caribbean tour. Kate Middleton, the Duchess of Cambridge, marked her first official outing at home in a white and yellow printed dress by Alessandra Rich after departing Lynden Pindling International Airport in the Bahamas.

Kate Middleton, Duchess of Cambridge, wore a polka-dot dress with black hat and pearl earrings at the memorial service for Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh at Westminster Abbey. A nude clutch is paired with black high heels.

The Duchess of Cambridge, Kate Middleton, has made several public appearances in Alessandra Rich’s demure, ladylike dresses. The latest polka-dot style pays homage to Diana, Princess of Wales, who loved polka dots after all.

The retro 1980s silhouette and puffed sleeves are not unlike those worn by Princess Diana herself, but Alessandra Rich’s signature buttons and belt give it a modern, modern twist.

This isn’t the first time the Duchess of Cambridge has paid homage to Princess Diana’s style – including wearing a navy gown by Alessandra Rich for Prince Charles’ 70th birthday portrait in 2018, and wearing a navy gown by Alessandra Rich in 2013 Introduce the world to the polka-dot maxi dress by Jenny Packham, the birthplace of Prince George, outside St. Mary’s Hospital.
