Doha: The registration of students for the 2021-22 academic year in Qatar will take place from March 1 to October 14. Admission to private schools and kindergartens will begin next month, according to the Ministry of Education. Meanwhile, students from abroad can register until the end of January 2022. Hamad Mohammed al-Ghali, director of the Licensing Department of Private Schools, said the appropriate registration method could be decided by each school. However, they can only be in accordance with the rules and regulations prescribed by the Ministry.

The main rules regarding private school admission are:

1. The number of students that can be admitted to the school will be determined according to the school building inspection report.

2. The authorities should check and determine the number of vacancies in schools.

3. Students’ information should be uploaded on the Ministry’s website within one week of admission

4. Parents should be informed about the admission within one week of submitting the application.

5. Schools must add student information using the National Student Information System.

Students without a Qatar ID issued by the Qatari Ministry of Interior may not be admitted to the school. Children entering the country on a visit visa should not be allowed to enter the school. Do not enroll more children than the school can handle. Other conditions related to enrollment are that schools do not have the authority to put a student on a waiting list for more than a week after submitting the application.
