Priyanka arrested by police; ‘UP struggle’ in Varanasi – Video | Priyanka Gandhi

Lucknow: Congress general secretary Priyanka Gandhi has started her campaign for the Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections from Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s own platform. Priyanka started her campaign by holding a ‘Kisan Nyay’ rally in Varanasi in the wake of the Lakhimpur Kheri incident. The first plan was to launch a campaign from western UP but later changed its mind.

On Sunday, Priyanka arrived in Varanasi ahead of the rally and visited various temples. Chhattisgarh Chief Minister and UP election observer Bhupesh Bagel and Deepender Singh Hood MP were also present at the Kashi Vishwanath Temple and Ma Durga Temple.

During a visit to the temple, a video of Priyanka calling and embracing a female police officer on duty went viral on social media. The video was shared by Youth Congress National President BV Srinivas. It is reported that Priyanka will stay in Uttar Pradesh for five days every month ahead of the Assembly elections.
