Prizes for memorizing and understanding texts were able to reveal young scholars

The Minister of Islamic Affairs and Original Education, Dah Ould Sidi Ould Amar Taleb, said that the prizes for the Memorization and Understanding of Mahdari texts were able to reveal young scholars of a rare “class”.

The minister was speaking during the awards ceremony for the third edition of the President of the Republic’s Competition for Memorizing and Understanding Mahdari Texts, today, Tuesday, in the capital, Nouakchott.

The minister stressed that the organization of this competition constitutes “fulfillment of the ancient heritage of this society represented in the taboo that formulated this people and their religious and moral authority,” as he put it.

Ould Sidi Ould Amar Taleb pointed out that «this competition constitutes a guarantee for the continuity and brilliance of this institution, by linking students with it and its sciences, and motivating them to excel».

The minister continued: “The award constitutes a stand of honor from His Excellency the President of the Republic, Mr. Mohamed Ould Cheikh Al-Ghazwani, with the meanings, excellencies and values ​​with which standing is considered a bias towards the identity, dignity and civilizational footprint of the nation, which is the basis for survival and steadfastness in the face of the storms of disintegration and the great value transformations of this era.”

The Mauritanian President, Mohamed Ould Cheikh Al-Ghazwani, supervised today, Tuesday, the distribution Prizes for the Grand Contest for Memorizing and Understanding the Mahdi Texts, whose value exceeds 24 million ancient ounces.

The competition topics include all prohibited sciences in their major texts. In the fields of: (the Qur’an and its sciences, jurisprudence, principles and grammar, hadith and its sciences and the biography of the Prophet, the Arabic language and its sciences, logic and statement).

The first place in this competition was won by Ahmed Muhammad Al-Amin Bab, and Abdul-Salam Muhammad Mahmoud Saeed came in the second place, and in the third place came Abdul-Rahman Muhammadan Musa Saadan, while the fourth place was won by Muhammad Muhammad Mahmoud Abh, and the fifth place was won by Sheikh Muhammad bin Muhammadan Musa.

The door of the competition is open to young Mauritanian lecturer students, whose age does not exceed 45 years, to compete in memorizing and mastering the prohibited texts approved by the major Mauritanian lecture halls. And he has This award was launched during the Council of Ministers meeting held on September 16, 2020.

The total value of the competition prizes amounts to 24.6 million old ounces, as the first winner will receive 5 million old ounces, the second will receive four million, and the third will receive three million.
