– Support rescue efforts in the Hatay region which was hit by an earthquake

(BEIJING, February 10, 2023 PRNewswire = 周年物利) Recently, Chinese construction equipment manufacturer Zoomlion Heavy Industry Science & Technology Co, Ltd (Zoomlion, 000157.SZ) began a rescue operation in Turkey’s earthquake-damaged Hatay region. A rescue team and an excavator were sent to assist.

At 4:17 am local time (0117 GMT), a magnitude 7.7 earthquake struck Kahramanmaras province in southern Turkey. A few minutes later, a magnitude 6.4 earthquake hit Gaziantep Province in southern Turkey. At 1:24 PM local time (1024 GMT), a magnitude 7.6 earthquake hit Kahramanmaras again.

After the earthquake, the Turkiye subsidiary of Zoomlion immediately sent a rescue team of professional service engineers and machine operators to the disaster area, along with electric blankets, first aid medicine, food and a set of tools for five diggers.

One of the first Chinese rescue teams to reach the affected area, the Zoomlion Rescue Team contributed to the rescue of four trapped survivors and participated in the earthquake relief effort.

“Our rescue team and excavation equipment jumped in to rescue the survivors trapped in the collapsed six-story building shortly after arriving at the scene,” said Yu Ke, a Zoomlion service engineer who participated in the rescue operation. “So far, we have rescued four survivors who were trapped. We are working hard to save more survivors.”

Zoomlion also contributes to the provision of rescue equipment. Zoomlion has so far sent a total of 18 excavators to disaster areas to assist with rescue efforts.
