Professional baseball NC left-handed bullpen Son Jeong-wook and professional pinch hitter Jeon Min-su will retire.
An NC official said today (18th), “The two players will retire after a match against Futures League KIA at Masan Stadium in Changwon.
The official explained, “The two players have been contemplating whether to retire or not for a long time.” Son Jung-wook will be working as a training coach for the second team for the remainder of this season.
Son Jung-wook, who joined NC as the 10th overall in the 2nd round of the 2013 Rookie Draft, played a professional life with only one team.
He did a great job in 2014 with a 2-1 record, a save, 16 holds and a 4.70 ERA, but went downhill in 2015 with a back injury.
Jeon Min-soo, who boasted a unique sense of hitting, such as receiving the Lee Young-min hitting award while attending Deoksoo High School, made a name for himself as a professional pinch hitter.
After playing Heroes, KT, and LG, Jeon Min-soo moved to NC in 2021 and played an active part.
This season, he performed well with a batting average of 0.275 in 20 games, especially as a pinch hitter with a batting average of 0.500 in 6 hits in 12 at-bats.
In the away match against KT on the 24th of last month, he hit a right-handed hit in the second out second base in the 10th inning of overtime against KT.
