According to the legal community on the 19th, the Fair Trade and Economic Crimes Division of the Seoul Eastern District Prosecutor’s Office (Chief Prosecutor Min Kyung-ho) on the 17th charged Mr. According to the (Special Accounts Act), C (48), the representative of a loan company, was arrested and charged with fraud and other charges under the Special Accounts Act.

In addition, D (50), a financial broker, and E (41), an employee of a loan company, were prosecuted without detention, respectively, on charges such as mediation and abetting under the Special Cases Act.

They are accused of colluding with Saemaul Geumgo to submit fake diamonds or receive a false or overestimated diamond appraisal from a fake appraiser, and then use it as collateral to borrow about 38 billion won from Saemaul Geumgo.

In the investigation by the prosecution, Mr. A, who was a high-ranking member of the Central Association of Saemaul Geumgo, used his position in exchange for receiving about 130 million won from Mr. B from June 2020 to January last year, and held a loan product briefing session for Mr. C and arranged a loan. turned out

In the process, B and D received about 570 million won from C, and from January 2020 to April of the following year, B and D arranged for C’s loan through A.

From February 2020 to March 2021, Mr. C submitted a fake diamond cube or a false appraisal to Saemaul Geumgo, and recorded it as a loan for a total of 38 billion won from Saemaul Geumgo in 16 regions. borrowed at interest rates.

It was found that Mr. E helped the crime by delivering a fake appraisal report issued to Mr. C.

It was confirmed that Mr. C made a huge loan profit by using the money borrowed in this way as the money for the loan business.

In June of last year, the prosecution received a complaint from a former Saemaul Geumgo employee against Mr. A and started an investigation. The Ministry of Public Administration and Security, the management and supervisory agency of Saemaul Geumgo, also recognized the incident and requested an investigation to the prosecution in July of the same year.

From January to June of this year, the prosecution conducted an investigation, including search and seizure of offices and accounts, and investigations of 16 Saemaul Geumgo loan officers and defendants.
