Prosecutors have asked the court to order the attachment of electronic devices to Lee Eun-hae and Cho Hyun-soo, the ‘murder of the valley’ defendants.
Prosecutors have asked for 20 years of electronic device attachment and 5 years of probation for Lee and Cho, who are being tried on charges of murder and attempted murder, in the 15th case held today at the 15th Criminal Division hearing Incheon District Court.
According to the prosecution, as a result of the recidivism risk assessment, Lee Eun-hae scored 15 points and Cho Hyun-soo scored 10 points.
Prosecutors argued, “Typically, a score of 12 or higher is high,” and said, “They need an order to attach electronic devices.”
“Although murder and attempted murder were found, both stubbornly deny the accusations and consider the victim as an instrumental object to obtain financial benefits,” said criticism.
Mr Lee and Mr Cho are arrested and put on trial for the murder of Mr Lee’s husband, Mr. Yoon, in Yongso Valley, Gapyeong-gun, Gyeonggi-do, on June 30, 2019 around 8:30 pm.
Prosecutors determined that they deliberately killed Yoon, who could not swim, to jump into the water of the valley without rescue equipment, aiming to win 800 million in life insurance money in the name of the victim.
