The prosecution, which is investigating an allegation of bribery of Democratic Party lawmaker Noh Woong-rae, has called former aides of Congressman Roh Woong-rae to investigate it.

The Anti-Corruption Investigation Division 2 of the Seoul Central District Prosecutor’s Office called a former secretary in charge of accounting at Assemblyman Roh’s office as a witness yesterday to investigate the accounting process at Assemblyman Roh’s office.

It is known that the investigation team confirmed that the claim of Mr. Park, a businessman who claimed to have transferred the money to Representative Roh, is consistent with objective accounting data.

Representative Roh is accused of receiving 60 million won by Park’s side in the name of election expenses for the 21st National Assembly between February and November 2020.

Prosecutors suspect that Park made various requests, such as prompt promotion of a logistics complex development project, support for a solar power project, and personnel appointments to the head of a local tax office, while distributing money to Congressman Roh.

Previously, Mr. Park said in a phone call with MBC that it was true that he was giving money to Congressman Roh, but it was pure encouragement, not solicitation, and contrary to the prosecution’s claim, he transferred over 50 million won and received 20 million won back.

Prosecutors plan to call the assistants who worked in Roh’s office and other people connected to the case to check, and then call Roh to investigate.
