The government recommends vaccination, but there are some who refuse it, and some cannot get it for some reason.

In particular, starting next Monday, you must have a quarantine pass to go to department stores and hypermarkets.

A protest against the quarantine pass was held in Seoul today.

This is reporter Park Yoon-soo’s report.

Hundreds of citizens protested against the government’s quarantine policy.

The quarantine pass compels vaccination and discriminates against those who are not vaccinated, infringing on the basic rights of the people.

“I think it is unreasonable and unconstitutional to separate and control those who have been vaccinated and those who have not been vaccinated in this way, even when the infection breaks through.”

From the day before tomorrow, the quarantine pass will be extended to about 2,000 department stores and hypermarkets across the country.

The government has announced that it will provide a one-week guidance period to reduce chaos in the field, but there are also voices complaining of inconvenience in life.

“I bought 200,000 won worth of food in the morning after being told that the mart is now closed today. I’ll have to hold on until I can survive.”

However, the government’s position that the quarantine pass reduces the risk of infection and protects those who are not vaccinated is firm.

Although unvaccinated patients account for only 6% of domestic adults, they account for more than half of critically ill patients.

He also emphasized that the fact that the number of confirmed cases, which had surged after the phased recovery of daily life, turned to a declining trend, is also the effect of the quarantine pass.

“The quarantine pass is an unavoidable measure to go back to normal life, and we ask for your cooperation, and we will continue to supplement possible improvements in the implementation process.”

3,510 new confirmed cases today.

As of Saturday’s announcement, it fell to the 3,000 level for the first time in seven weeks.

The number of patients with severe severe cases also decreased for ten days in a row, reducing the number to 838.

In the midst of this, the USFK Command has strengthened health measures to prevent the spread of COVID-19 and restricted going out to outside restaurants and bars from today.
