Protests against Samsung in Pakistan for allegedly blaspheming the Prophet. The incident took place in Karachi, Pakistan on Friday. The protest began after allegations surfaced that a Wi-Fi device installed in a mall was used to listen to statements against the Prophet Muhammad and his followers. Protesters vandalized and set fire to Samsung billboards.

The Dawn newspaper reported that the Karachi police also switched off Wi-Fi devices and detained more than 20 employees of the mobile phone company following the protest.

Samsung Electronics said in a statement that it has tried to be objective in all matters of religious significance. The company has made it clear that the company has utmost respect for all religious sentiments and beliefs and respects the religion of Islam and that an internal investigation is underway into the matter.
