Mumbai : Model Sherlyn Chopra has filed a defamation suit against actress Shilpa Shetty and her husband Raj Kundra seeking Rs 75 crore in damages for the mental anguish she suffered. Sherlyn Chopra has also accused the two of using underworld criminals to threaten her.
Sherlyn Chopra has lodged a complaint with the Mumbai Police against Shilpa Shetty and her husband Raj Kundra. According to the complaint, Raj Kundra sexually abused her and Shilpa Shetty was subjected to mental torture and cheating. Shilpa and her husband have sent a lawyer’s notice to Sherlyn Chopra seeking Rs 50 crore in damages for filing a defamation suit.
In response, Sherlyn Chopra sent a notice demanding Rs 75 crore. Sherlyn Chopra said that Shilpa and Raj had been threatened by underworld criminals and that the Mumbai police should record her statement.
Earlier in the day, Sherlyn had alleged that Raj Kundra came to her house late at night on March 27, 2019 and sexually assaulted her. Shilpa says that Sherlyn admitted that the sexual allegations against Raj were false.
The lawyer sent a notice to Shilpa and Raj stating that the false complaint was filed with the intention of defaming them. The lawyer said in the notice that he would go to court if he did not withdraw the allegations and apologize unconditionally.
Mumbai police had earlier recorded the statement of Sherlyn Chopra in the Raj Kundra accused’s blue film case. According to Sherlyn Chopra, Raj Kundra has repeatedly asked her to act in films for her venture. The suggestion was that he intended to be passionate content and act without regard to anything.
Sherlyn has stated that she did not act for Kundra’s venture because she could not come to an agreement on these matters and matters relating to remuneration.
