Palakkad: PU Asian Games gold medalist Chitra married. The groom is Shaiju, son of Nenmara Cheramangalam Antazhi Ramakrishnan and the late Kamalam. Muttikulangara KAP Shaiju is a civil police officer in two battalions. Currently on deputation in the State Industrial Protection Force (Thrissur). The engagement was in September. The decision was taken during the training at the athletics camp in Bengaluru.

Chitra is the daughter of Unnikrishnan and Vasantakumari in the Mundur Palakkeez house. Senior Clerk in Palakkad Railway Department. He won gold at the 2016 South Asian Games, the 2017 Asian Championship, the 2019 Doha Asian Games and a bronze medal at the 2018 Asian Games. The successes were in the 1,500m race.
