Puneeth is the son of legendary Kannada actor Rajkumar. He made his film debut as a child actor in some of the films starring Rajkumar. Puneet won the National Award for Best Child Actor for his role as Appu in ‘Bettada Hoo’. Puneet Rajkumar, who later acted in another film ‘Appu’ as an adult, was known by the same nickname among the fans.
