A negative analysis has revealed that Russian President Vladimir Putin is under increasing stress.

Japan’s Nikkei Shimbun reported on the 31st that it had analyzed the voices of President Putin’s speeches, etc. to examine his psychological state.

Speech analysis is used to convert a voice into a frequency and find out the psychological state at the time of utterance.

The newspaper secured about 1 hour and 19 minutes of audio data, including President Putin’s speeches and talks from the 1st of last month to the 18th of this month. Putin’s voice was analyzed by asking ‘Risk Measurement Technologies’, a company with specialized risk assessment technology.

● Stress rises at last month’s Russian security meeting

According to the report, Putin’s ‘normal’ state negative standard was when he spoke at the UN General Assembly on the 21st of last month.

The newspaper reported that Putin made notable changes to his voice at a Russian security meeting on the same day. It is explained that the stress levels alternated between high and low levels for a short period of time.

At the time, Putin discussed with the heads of security agencies, foreign ministers, and the heads of the Senate and House of Representatives whether to approve the independence of Donetsk and Luhansk in eastern Ukraine.

“It is presumed that he was in a mentally unstable state,” explained Kanji Okazaki, CEO of Technologies.

Ikuo Daibo, dean of Hoshisei University, who studies the relationship between body movement and psychology, explained, “I can feel the will to do something that President Putin has decided.” That’s because Putin leaned against his desk with his hands on his desk.

● Invasion announcement, stress level descending line

In a TV address to the public on the 24th of last month, announcing the invasion of Ukraine, the stress level once drew a downward line.

CEO Okazaki said, “It represents an optimistic state of mind.”

At the time, President Putin was planning to take down the Ukrainian capital Kiiu in a short period of time, so it is possible that he had an optimistic outlook.

The psychological state was shaken again on the 10th when foreign companies decided to withdraw from business in Russia and started economic sanctions. The level of stress increased by more than 40% compared to normal.

Dean Ikuo explained that his feelings must have suddenly intensified. It’s because he was acting like a gangster.

● This month’s speech “I couldn’t get a response from the audience, so I was quiet”

There are times when there is no emotional uplift. President Putin, attending a celebration of the eighth anniversary of the annexation of Crimea on the 18th, insisted that the invasion of Ukraine was intended to liberate the people of the east from being massacred.

At the time, President Putin’s negative stress level was lower than usual. There was an audience of 200,000 at the event, but Putin was not motivated.

Dean Ikuo commented, “I tried to get the audience’s reaction, but it didn’t go well, so it seems like I’m speaking in an introverted tone.”
