Qatar joins UN Human Rights Council

Qatar becomes a member of the United Nations Human Rights Council. Qatar was elected to the Council for the period 2022-24 with 182 votes. Eighteen countries, including Qatar, are members of the council. The term of the new council is three years.

He has previously been a member of the Qatar Council four times. Qatari Foreign Minister Mohammed bin Abdurrahman Al-Thani said the move was in recognition of Qatar’s global commitment to human rights. The foreign policy of the country was mainly shaped. It is based on the motto of human rights protection. He added that the country believes that this is essential to ensure development and peace.
