Qatari car driver Nasser Al-Atwiya wins car category at Saudi Dakar Rally

JeddahQatari car driver Nasser Al-Atwiya wins this year’s Saudi Dakar Rally in the 12-stage event. Nasser Al Atwiyah was ahead from the start of the match. Al Atwiyah won the title 27 minutes and 46 seconds behind Sebastian Loeb.

Frenchman Sebastian Loeb was second and Saudi’s Yaseed Alrajhi was third. This is the fourth time Nasser Al Atwiyah has won the Dakar Rally. Saudi Yassid Al Rajhi finished third in one hour, one minute and 13 seconds .The 2022 Saudi Dakar Rally is the largest participation in the history of the world’s most famous and proud desert rally. More than 650 people from 70 countries around the world attended the rally. There were 430 vehicles in the various categories and 148 vehicles in the Dakar Classic category.

Sam Sunderland, a British ‘Gas Gas’ rider, won the bike category. Sunderland beat Chile’s Pablo Quintania and Austria’s Matthias Faulkner to win the title. This is Sam Sunderland’s second title. The first winner of the 2017 Dakar Rally was the Russian Kamas Master Team in the truck category. The Dakar Rally started on January 2. The 12th and final stage of the competition was in Jeddah. The final leg of the journey from Bisha Governorate to Jeddah was 680 km.
