Qualcomm’s newly released Snapdragon 695 and other four chips, covering mid-end and low-end markets

Qualcomm Snapdragon

Not long ago, Qualcomm announced four new processors in one go, aiming to better cover the mid- and low-end markets. Among the four, Snapdragon 695, 778G+ and 480+ are all 5G chips. Among them, S695 is the successor of S690, based on the 6nm process. One of its major improvements is that it supports both millimeter wave and sub-6 5G networks. Compared with the previous generation, the graphics rendering speed of the new product can be increased by up to 30%, and the CPU performance has been increased by up to 15%. In addition, it also has “immersive gaming Experience, high-end shooting experience and more efficient productivity.”

As you can see from the name, Snapdragon 778G+ and 480+ are upgrades of S778G and S480 respectively. Compared with the previous generation, S778G+ has realized “the improvement of GPU and CPU performance”. The CPU frequency has been increased from 2.4GHz to 2.5GHz. At the same time, S480+ has also increased the frequency from 2.0GHz of the previous generation to 2.2GHz. The last remaining new product, S680, is also based on the same 6nm process as S695. However, this is an LTE chip, which basically provides assistance for the current mainstream 5G products in terms of positioning.

According to Qualcomm’s plan, these new products are expected to be launched later in the fourth quarter of this year. At present, HMD Globla has stated that Nokia will use Snapdragon 480+, Oppo and Xiaomi will launch new products based on S695, and the latter will also have new phones equipped with S778G+. In addition, Honor, Vivo, Motorola have also stated that they will purchase a new batch of Qualcomm processors.
