quantum gravity theory reviving ancient concepts “A universe without beginnings” – Fresh News

The event “Big Bang” (Big Bang), or the expansion of things largely 14 billion years ago. Many people believe it to be the origin of the universe. which makes it difficult to imagine Without the Big Bang, would there still be a universe that gave birth to Earth and humans like us?

Most recently, a physicist from the University of Liverpool in the UK. It used state-of-the-art concepts like Quantum Gravity (QG) to prove the possibility that the universe could exist as we have always seen. There is no beginning or big bang as it is understood. Or if the Big Bang actually exists, it’s just an aftermath.

This unconventional idea equal to revive ancient beliefs in some cultures that The universe is something that is eternal without origin and may never die.

A new theory of quantum gravity

Dr. Bruno Bento, a physicist who studies the nature of time from the University of Liverpool. The author of the above research, now published in the online academic archive arXiv.org, said he developed a new theory within the framework of quantum gravity. by giving the name “Causal Set Theory”

The new theory views that space-time can be divided into smaller and smaller units until eventually there are fundamentally indistinguishable units of space-time. Like the atoms of the elements, we can use this fundamental time-space to find the beginning of the universe or the universe.

According to the general theory of relativity Space-time weaved together as one continuous piece.

The reason for the set theory of causation developed from the concept of quantum gravity. It is because such quantum concepts can explain physics problems at the particle level. which Einstein’s theory of general relativity cannot explain at all. Including the problem of gravitation in “singularity” (singularity), or the smallest point of infinite density. They are found only in the centers of black holes and the beginnings of things like the Big Bang.

Dr. Bento thought that if space-time at the fundamental level could be split apart like atoms, Without the continuous weaving of a single piece of fabric as we imagine the universe and the real world today. Chance of when and where two events will follow each other. will be limited immediately

A new perspective on such space-time It’s similar to looking at a magnifying glass on your computer screen. This will cause an enlarged image that is immediately separate from the rest of the screen. Unlike the naked eye, all screen images are linked as one.

There is no beginning of time

Dr. Bento also explains that “The set theory of causation considers The passage of time is characterized by expansive and distinct physical features. rather than being just an abstraction or an illusion.”

“Under this conceptual framework The universe is an expansion of only one elementary unit of space-time. Just as one elementary particle gradually enlarges, in which condition no singularity or infinite origin exists. for there will never be anything smaller than the size of the elementary space-time.”

“Mathematically Such a theory is possible. This means that the origin or the Big Bang is not a prerequisite for the existence of the universe. At least there must be something that existed long before the Big Bang happened.”

“Our study shows that It is the past that is infinitely long and infinite. The Big Bang was not the beginning. It is only a step in the evolution of the universe,” concluded Dr. Bento.
