Quarantine authorities “The quarantine pass is valid for 6 months… Additional vaccinations for those aged 18 to 49 years after 5 months”

The quarantine authorities decided to set the validity period of the quarantine pass to 6 months in consideration of the decrease in the effectiveness of the vaccine over time after being vaccinated against COVID-19.

It was decided to conduct additional vaccinations 5 months after the completion of vaccination for 18-49 year olds.

The Ministry of Health and Welfare reported the ‘Medical and quarantine follow-up response plan for the continuation of gradual daily recovery’ and announced the following.

It has been decided to set a 6-month validity period (5 months for additional vaccinations + 1 month for grace period) when issuing a quarantine pass for those who have completed basic vaccination.

In order to maintain the quarantine pass, participation in booster vaccinations within the vaccination interval is required, which will be implemented from December 20th.

Currently, the additional vaccination interval is different for each subject, but as a result of the deliberation of the Special Immunization Committee, the principle is set at 5 months, so we set it to 6 months in consideration of the grace period.

The current booster vaccination is set at 4 months (120 days) after the completion of the basic vaccination for those aged 60 years and over, nursing hospitals, facilities, medical institutions, facilities vulnerable to infection, and those with underlying diseases, taking into consideration the risk of seriousness and death and the possibility of transmission by subject.

5 months (150 days) for the age group in their 50s and the occupational group for priority vaccination, and 2 months (60 days) for Janssen vaccinated persons and immunocompromised persons.

For those aged 18 to 49, the additional vaccination will be administered 5 months (150 days) after the completion of the basic vaccination.

18-49 years old can receive vaccination from December 4th through advance reservation from December 2nd, and the remaining vaccines can be vaccinated on the same day from December 2nd.

In case of personal circumstances (overseas departure, treatment for disease, etc.), group vaccinations (facility vulnerable to infection, medical institutions, etc.), or those wishing to inoculate with residual vaccine, early vaccination is possible within one month of the standard.

For example, those aged 60 and over can receive early vaccination by shortening it from 4 months to 3 months, and those aged 18 to 59 can shorten the vaccination period from 5 months to 4 months. However, we decided to exclude those who were eligible for 2 months.
