Rahul’s confidant Ashok Tanwar and Congress leader Keerthi Azad join Trinamool Kirti Azad

New Delhi: Former Haryana Congress president and Rahul Gandhi’s close confidante Ashok Tanwar and former cricketer Keerthi Azad are likely to join the Trinamool Congress. They will join Trinamool in the presence of West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, who is in Delhi for a three – day visit.

Former JDU MP Pawan Verma is also reported to be joining Trinamool. Ashok Tanwar, a former MP who left the Congress just before the 2019 Haryana Assembly elections, had formed his own party earlier this year.

Keerthi Azad, who was part of the team when India won its first Cricket World Cup in 1983, was already in the BJP. He then joined the Congress in 2018. He has been elected to the Lok Sabha three times from Darbhanga in Bihar.
