[OSEN=정승우 기자] Sir Alex Ferguson, 81, visited Liverpool’s Anfield home.

The prestigious Rangers FC of Liverpool and Scotland played the Group A match of the ‘2022-2023 season UEFA Champions League group stage’ at Anfield, Liverpool, England on the 5th at 4 am (Korea time).

There was an unexpected person visiting Anfield, Sir Alex Ferguson.

Ferguson, who led Manchester United for 27 years from 1986 to 2013, is one of the best managers in football history. Manager Ferguson visited Anfield, home of Manchester United’s biggest rivals, Liverpool.

Ferguson, who is a citizen of Scotland, performed excellently in the 1965-1966 season as a player for Dunfermlin Athletic FC, scoring 45 goals in 51 appearances. Sir Ferguson then played for the Rangers from 1967 to 1969.

Sir Ferguson has spoken regularly about Scottish football since he retired as manager. He praised the Scottish midfielder, Darren Fletcher, whom he coached during his time at United, and often mentioned Scott McTominay, who is currently playing for United.

Meanwhile, Liverpool won the match 2-0 thanks to goals from Trent Alexander-Arnold and Mohamed Salah. /reccos23@osen.co.kr
