Mumbai: The Ranji Trophy has been abandoned. The BCCI said the decision was taken in view of the Kovid situation. For the first time in history, the Ranji Trophy tournament is being abandoned. The board announced that the Ranji Trophy would be used to pay match fees to players. BCCI secretary Jay Shah said the decision to skip the tournament was based on suggestions from various state associations.
