Ravi Shastri will not continue as coach; Report that the decision has been announced

According to national media reports, Shastri has turned down a request from the BCCI leadership to continue with his tour of South Africa later this year.

Mumbai: Ravi Shastri has reportedly said that he will not continue as the coach of the Indian cricket team. According to the agreement, Shastri will resign after the T20 World Cup. According to national media reports, Shastri has turned down a request from the BCCI leadership to continue with his tour of South Africa later this year.

There are indications that bowling coach Bharat Arun, who joined the coaching staff along with Shastri, will change. The appointment of Rahul Dravid as interim coach is under consideration but it is not clear whether Dravid will be ready.

Bangalore team coaches Mike Hesson and Tom Moody are likely to apply for the post. Mumbai Indians coach Mahela Jayawardene is also on the list.
