The hosts won the match by two goals to one at Real’s home ground. The Royals won the game after trailing by one goal. Sevilla took the lead in the 12th minute through Rafa Mir, but Real equalized in the 32nd minute through superstar Karim Benzema. The match seemed to be heading for a draw, but Vinicius Jr. scored in the 87th minute to give Real the victory.
Atletico defeated Cadiz by four goals to one. For Atletico, Thomas Lemar, Antoine Griezmann, Angel Correa and Matthew Cunha found the target. Cadiz’s consolation goal was scored by Anthony Lozano.
In other matches, Espanyol thrashed Real Sociedad 1-1, while Real Betis beat Levante 3-1.
Real remain top of the La Liga points table with 33 points from 14 games. Atletico are second with 29 points. Real Sociedad are third with 29 points from 15 matches. Barcelona are seventh.
