Because local house prices are booming with anticipation, the takeover committee said it was a ‘mid- and long-term project’, and then they said that it was a lie.

The reaction of the transition committee is that it is confusing in the area.

The first new city will be reborn as a luxury city.

It was one of the key promises of President-elect Yoon Seok-yeol.

“We will make a special law to promote the first-phase new city redevelopment project and raise the floor area ratio to ensure sufficient supply.”

Anticipation of reconstruction immediately lifted apartment prices in the area.

I went to a real estate agency in Bundang.

It explains that the 105-square-meter apartment has risen close to 100 million won in just one month.

“Based on 32 pyeong, it has risen from 50 million won to 100 million won.”

It is said that the seeds for sale have dried up.

“There are also properties that have been put on hold. I wondered if it would rise again if I saw that the Special Reconstruction Act was approved and it was done quickly…”

For a month and a half after the election, the average change in the sale price of apartments in the first new city was 0.26%.

From the beginning of this year to before the presidential election, the increase was more than three times higher than the 0.07%.

As the market fluctuated even before the inauguration of the new government, the transition committee seemed to withdraw from its promise.

Won Il-hee, senior spokesperson for the transition committee, said, “The issue of reconstruction of the first new city is a matter under consideration as a mid- to long-term national project.”

As critical public opinion swelled, saying that he was ‘deceived’, the bewildered transition committee hurried to evolve.

However, despite this explanation, the residents are in a state of confusion.

“Of course, the atmosphere is outrageous. I can’t just take the votes after reversing my promises like this and see them being treated like this anymore…”

“These days, politicians come and go according to their elections, so no one will believe them.”

In the midst of this, Choo Kyung-ho, the deputy prime minister of economy and minister of Strategy and Finance, put forward a prudent theory on the plan for the first new town redevelopment special law, saying, “It is difficult to secure business feasibility due to the high floor area ratio of existing houses, and if the project is implemented at once, there may be a migration problem.” The confusion surrounding the reconstruction seems unlikely to subside easily.
