Red Bull Honda F1 Max Verstappen “I don’t believe in momentum”[F1-Gate .com]

Red Bull Honda’s Max Verstappen says he doesn’t think the 2021 F1 World Championship race has been in his favor because of his victory at the F1 Mexican Grand Prix.

Max Verstappen, who allowed Mercedes F1 to take the lead in qualifying on Saturday, dominated the race after regaining the lead in the first corner in the final. Lewis Hamilton finished second, extending the driver’s championship lead to 19 points in the remaining four races.

However, Max Verstappen does not believe that he has gained an advantage towards winning his first F1 World Champion and insists that he will race one race at a time.

“I don’t believe in momentum,” said Max Verstappen.

“So you have to make sure you get the details in every race. You couldn’t do that on Saturday.”

“Things can get worse in a blink of an eye, or they can turn around, so it’s going to be a really tight and exciting fight to the end.”

“This has always been a really good track for us and I don’t think Brazil will be like it is today.”

Max Verstappen made three wides with Valtteri Bottas and Lewis Hamilton at the start and overtook them in the first corner braking.

Max Verstappen recalls that the overtaking in the first corner was braking at the “barely” deep in the corner.

“You can’t really practice what the start will look like, it depends on what happens, whether it’s the sun, the middle, or the right,” says Max Verstappen.

“But I was on the outside and basically on the racing line so I knew exactly where to brake. It’s always tricky. Especially the inside is completely dirty because no one is running.”

“They can never delay the brakes like an outside car, and I knew where they were braking at the last minute.”

“You can see that we were approaching the white line at the exit. If anyone inside would brake there, he would definitely be off course. I aimed there and it worked. ”
