In a broadcast interview, President Moon Jae-in criticized Yoon Seok-yeol’s office relocation plan and North Korea policy with exceptionally strong criticism.

He said, “The candidate period and the president must be different,” but the elected side countered, saying, “Fulfill your responsibilities.”

Reporter Um Ji-in covered the story.

President-elect Yoon Seok-yeol said that the reason for moving the Oval Office to the Yongsan Ministry of National Defense rather than the Blue House was because of ‘communication’.

“(If you don’t make a decision), it’s hard to get out of the imperial presidential system. For now, I think this space (the Blue House) dominates the ceremony.”

President Moon Jae-in said, “Communication is a matter of will,” and criticized the relocation of the Oval Office as “not appropriate and dangerous.”

In particular, he strongly criticized the ‘quick-and-quick negotiation’ approach, saying that he did not sufficiently look at public opinion and security concerns.

“It is very difficult to accept this kind of decision and the way things are handled and carried out like ‘I can’t be at the Blue House even for a day’.”

He also set a date for President-elect Yoon’s security officer.

The claim that ‘it can preempt North Korea’ is “inappropriate as a national leader,” and the promise of ‘additional deployment of THAAD’ was downplayed as “an election remark.”

“I think the mode (method) of the candidates days and the mode of the president should be different.”

Unlike presidential candidates who focused on gathering supporters, this is interpreted to mean that the president should focus on ‘national stability’ and ‘national unity’.

At the same time, there is also a concern that the elected party is driving the current government policy toward ‘liquidation’.

President-elect Yoon did not hide his displeasure, saying that it is the dignity of a leader to help the new government launch well.

Regarding the relocation of the Oval Office, he countered, “When I met President-elect Yoon, he said it was a good decision that President Moon did not go to Gwanghwamun.”

“I would like to ask once again that (President Moon) fulfill his responsibilities while thinking only of the people for the rest of his tenure.”

The difference between the positions of the new and old powers on the separation of the prosecution’s investigative powers is even more stark.

In addition, there is a war of nerves over the final amnesty and its target, which have not yet been finalized.
