The government announced that it was easing the obligation to wear masks as the number of confirmed cases, serious illness, and deaths were falling, and the medical response capacity was stable.
The impact of the Chinese epidemic was also judged to be manageable.

“We believe that the impact of the foreign epidemic on Korea will be limited. After reviewing these circumstances comprehensively, it is now evaluated that the situation is possible to modify the obligation to wear a mask indoors.”
Citizen reactions were mixed.

“I like it. First, if you’re going to a restaurant right now, take off your mask and go out to eat. It’s cold. This is funny. It looks like you’ve take it off already…”
Many people said they would continue to wear masks.

“We’re going to wear something. Even if it’s uncomfortable, it’s not good to wear it. Even if it’s uncomfortable, we should wear it safely.”
Even if the mask duty is lifted indoors, you must still wear a mask in facilities open to infection, such as medical institutions, pharmacies and nursing hospitals, and public transport.
In the case of public transport, trains, buses, taxis, nursery schools or school transport vehicles apply.
Now, all that remains is to remove the mask completely and lift the mandatory 7-day quarantine for confirmed patients.
The quarantine authorities predicted that if the Corona 19 infectious disease grade goes down from the current level 2 to level 4, the range of indoor mask adjustments will be wider.
