Amid the controversy surrounding the subway protests on the way to work, Rep. Kim Ye-ji of People’s Power kneeled to the disabled group saying “I feel the responsibility”.

Rep. Kim visited the 25th demonstration site at Gyeongbokgung Station on Seoul Subway Line 3 with a guide dog named Joy for the visually impaired and said, “As a politician, I feel my responsibility. “I apologize on behalf of that. I’m really sorry,” he said.

Rep. Kim knelt down and said, “I’m also sorry to the citizens who are feeling uncomfortable. The inconvenience of going to work, and the thought of it is annoying.” He bowed his head to the passengers as well.

People’s Power Representative Lee Jun-seok is posting criticism every day, saying that it is ‘a method that takes the inconvenience of an unspecified number of people as hostage’, and the disabled people’s group protests, saying, “CEO Lee is pouring out derogatory remarks against people with disabilities every day.”

At a press conference today, a group of people with disabilities said, “We apologize to the citizens for the inconvenience on their way to work,” and said, “But what have politicians and the government been doing for over 20 years?”

The National Solidarity for the Elimination of Discrimination against Persons with Disabilities continued the protest today, moving from Gyeongbokgung Station (Line 3) to Hyehwa Station (Line 4) from around 8 am today.
