Republicans Are Using Islamophobia To Get Me Out: Ilhan Omar

Washington: Ilhan Abdullahi Omar, representative of the Democratic Party, criticized the Republican Party in the United States.

US Congressman Ilhan Omar responded to Republican House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy’s threat to expel him from the House Foreign Affairs Committee.

Omar also accused the Republican Party and McCarthy of constantly attacking him by using Islamophobia and racism as weapons.

Last week, Kevin McCarthy announced several times that Omar would be removed from the Foreign Affairs Committee.

McCarthy accuses Ilhan Omar of making ‘paradoxical comments’.

“From the moment I was elected to the floor of the House, the Republican Party has made it their mission to use fear, xenophobia, Islamophobia, racism, and millions of dollars in campaign advertising to target me.

McCarthy’s continued efforts to isolate and ostracize me through hate (including threatening to remove me from my committee) are not helpful in addressing the issues our legislators are dealing with.

“This move will do nothing to address or solve the issues of inflation, inflation, health and climate,” Omar said in a statement released on Monday.

Ilhan Omar, a member of the Democratic-Farmer-Labor Party (Democratic-Farmer-Labor Party), has been a representative from Minnesota in the United States Congress since 2019.

Ilhan Omar introduced a bill to stop international Islamophobia in the US House of Representatives in December 2021. Born in Somalia, Omar later immigrated to the US with his family.

She has faced criticism from the Republican Party and her own party, the Democrats, for being a vocal critic of Israel’s policies.

At the same time, Kevin McCarthy is also the leader most likely to be elected Speaker of the House next term.
