Relaxation of residency and quarantine requirements for returning to Hong Kong from overseas regions and Taiwan:

  • Relaxed from the current “3+4” to “0+3”

  • Removal of the requirement for a negative PCR nucleic acid test result certificate

  • A negative rapid test result must be maintained within 24 hours

  • Hong Kong residents who have not completed vaccinations can also board the flight

The “0 + 3” model arrangement means that passengers are not required to stay in a quarantine hotel, and those who arrive in Hong Kong can choose to go home or stay in a hotel, and undergo medical surveillance 3 days after arrived in Hong Kong. In addition, arriving travelers are required to undergo rapid antigen testing daily until the 7th day, and nucleic acid testing is also required on the 2nd, 4th and 6th days after arrival.

3-Day Medical Surveillance Requirements

Passengers can leave the airport immediately after receiving the nucleic acid test at the airport. They do not need to wait for the test results at the airport. They can also choose public transport to leave the airport. Those who have had a negative nucleic acid test result can receive a 3-day “yellow code” covering the 0th to 2nd day of arrival in Hong Kong. During the period of holding the “code yellow”, they can go out, but are subject to the current “code yellow” restrictions and cannot enter the food court Restaurants, bars and other listed places. If a passenger has a negative nucleic acid test result on the third day after arriving in Hong Kong, they will be given a “blue code” and can start self-monitoring.
