Ring lost 53 years ago found; Owner thanks couple – News18 Malayalam

The news of a US citizen who got back a ring she lost fifty-three years ago is now gaining attention on social media. A woman named Dana Scott Laughlin got back the ring she lost in high school. A couple found the ring while fishing in a California lake. In 1969, he lost his ring while swimming in Dana Lake after finishing high school. The ring had fallen from his finger to the bottom of the lake. But Dana didn’t think she would ever get the ring back. But Dana got the ring back earlier this month.

The couple had posted that they had found a ring while fishing in Lake Berryessa and were trying to find its owner. Dana’s son saw this and informed his mother. The couple also sent him pictures of the ring to convince him that the incident was true. Dana checked the pictures of the ring. Dana’s initials and the school she attended were printed on it. So the couple sent the ring to Dana by courier. Dana now lives in Alabama. Dana said she couldn’t believe her ring had been found after so many years and it was a huge shock to her husband.

The discovery of a lost memory card after seven years also made big news recently. The incident happened in Australia. There were hundreds of family photos on the memory card. According to a report on the BBC, swimmer Rory Fitzgerald found a camera and memory card while swimming in Sydney’s Balmoral Bay in 2015. So he shared a post on Facebook to find the real owner of the memory card. But in 2020, he received a reply message. The message belonged to the owner of that memory card. So he met Fitzgerald in person and bought the memory card.

It was also big news for a woman in England’s Cornwall County when her husband’s wedding ring was returned after years. That wedding ring went missing 35 years ago. The old woman’s name is Ann Kendrick. Kendrick found the ring while clearing the steps of an apple tree in his garden. Her husband Peter lost the ring while working in the garden. The incident was in 1987.

A ring was also returned years later in Canada. A diamond ring that was lost 13 years ago was returned to the 84-year-old woman. Mary Grams got her ring back in 2017. But Mary didn’t get the ring from just dirt. The ring was found stuck inside a carrot plucked from the soil.
