Rishabh Pant | Finisher Dinesh Karthik ahead of Akshar; Criticism of the ball’s captaincy

Rishabh’s captaincy has come under fire again after India lost their second Twenty20 match against South Africa. South Africa beat India by four wickets to take a 2-0 lead in the series.

Dinesh Karthik, who was named in the team as the finisher in the second match, has now been criticized by fans for sending Akshar Patel to bat. Dinesh Karthik was expected by the fans after Hardik Pandya was dismissed in the 13th over.

But Karthik was replaced by Akshar Patel at the crease. Axel, who faced 11 balls, could score only 10 runs. On the other hand, Karthik’s 30 off 21 balls, including two sixes and four fours, took India to 148.

Rishabh Pant has come under fire on social media for not batting Karthik at the crucial stage. Former India captain and commentator Sunil Gavaskar and former South African captain and commentator Graeme Smith have criticized the ball’s decision.

With 10 balls to spare, South Africa overtook India’s 149 – run target at the Barabati Stadium in Cuttack. Heinrich Klaassen’s fiery half-century (81 off 46 balls) gave South Africa the victory. Themba Bauma (35 off 30 balls) and David Miller (20 * off 15 balls) were the other notable contributors.

Bhuvneshwar Kumar took four wickets for 13 runs in four overs. Yusvendra Chahal, who conceded 49 runs in four overs, was a disappointment.
