Rajasthan Royals will take on Royal Challengers Bangalore in the IPL today. The match will be played at the Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium, Pune at 7.30 pm. Rajasthan Royals are third and Royal Challengers Bangalore are fifth in the points table. Both teams have 10 points from five matches with five wins, but Rajasthan have played seven matches and Bangalore eight. Rajasthan’s net run rate is also good. If they win today, Bangalore will be second. If Rajasthan wins, Sanju and his team will advance to the top spot. (royal challengers rajasthan royals)

Dinesh Karthik, Glenn Maxwell and Shahbaz Ahmed are the only batsmen to make an impact in the Bangalore batting line-up. The poor performance of the top three, including Faf Duplessis, Anuj Rawat and Virat Kohli, is a major setback for them. Reaching the Golden Duck twice in a row, Kohli is in the worst form of his career. Duplessis is also in the worst form ever. Rawat is not taking advantage of the opportunities he has been given. The responsibility of saving the batting line-up rests solely on Maxwell, Shahbaz and Karthik as the RCB’s failure as a team. The bowling line-up is excellent. Mahipal Lomror may replace substitute Anuj Rawat. If so, it might open up with Collie Duplessis.

The batting line-up is strong in Rajasthan. Jose Butler is at the peak of his form. Devdut may have some off days but the player is not performing badly. Sanju is doing well for the team both as a captain and as a player. Hetmeyer does exactly the role of finisher. It is a matter of concern that Ryan Parag has not put up a good innings so far. Though there are some gaps in the batting line-up, it may not affect Rajasthan. It is a headache for Rajasthan that there is no option to throw death over in the bowling department. Obed McCoy bowled well against Kolkata but gave up against Delhi. Bolt and Prasidh are the best players in power play. Ashwin and Chahal control the middle overs. Sanju’s strategy of using Chahal in death overs is excellent. The absence of an all-rounder at number seven is also a setback for Rajasthan.
