AFC Releases Guidelines for Football Fans Attending U-23 Asian Cup Hosted by Thailand
The Asian Football Confederation (AFC) and the organizing committee of the competition have issued a notice outlining the guidelines for spectators attending the Group H AFC Asian Cup U23 Qatar 2024 qualifier hosted by Thailand. The rules and regulations are as follows:
1. Regulations Regarding Cheering Equipment
- 1.1 Spectators are prohibited from bringing any cheering equipment that violates the competition’s rules and regulations into the stadium.
- 1.2 All cheering equipment must undergo inspection and be authorized by the competition managers, subject to the discretion of the Asian Football Confederation and the competition management committee.
- 1.3 Flags larger than 2 × 3 meters are not allowed inside the competition area.
- 1.4 Flag handles made of hard materials, such as steel, aluminum, PVC pipes, or wood, or those longer than 1 meter, are not permitted.
- 1.5 Flags with messages related to security, politics, offensive content, divisive statements, or anything that spreads hatred are strictly prohibited.
- 1.6 On match days, only cheering equipment authorized in accordance with items 1.2 – 1.5 is allowed inside the field.
2. Prohibited Items at the Stadium and Competition Venue
- 2.1 Weapons, including firearms, knives, sharp objects, glass bottles, explosives, flares, Wansi fireworks, substances that cause smoke, and e-cigarettes, are strictly prohibited.
- 2.2 Substances such as drugs, pollutants, alcoholic beverages, or intoxicating substances are not permitted.
- 2.3 Water bottles and water cans are not allowed.
- 2.4 Whistles and lasers are strictly prohibited.
- 2.5 DSLR cameras and action cameras are not permitted.
- 2.6 The use of drones for recording above the competition venue and field is strictly prohibited. Any drones found will be confiscated immediately, and legal action may be taken. The competition committee will not be held responsible for any damage caused to the equipment.
- 2.7 Spectators are prohibited from recording or live broadcasting the match, including on platforms like Facebook or fan pages. Violators will be immediately removed from the competition by the Asian Football Confederation and may face legal consequences.
- 2.8 Any materials or equipment that could pose a danger or disrupt the competition are subject to the discretion of the competition committee.
Note: Football fans or fan groups wishing to bring cheering equipment, such as flags, drums, banners, or other types of equipment, must submit a letter of request via email to [email protected] by September 5, 2023, at 5:00 pm. The request should include details of the equipment and a deposit. Approval will be granted by the competition management.
The AFC and the association request the cooperation of Thai football fans in welcoming visiting fans who will be attending the AFC U23 Asian Cup Qatar 2024 Qualifying Group H, hosted by Thailand at Chonburi Stadium from Day 6 to September 12, 2023.
Football fans can purchase tickets from the ticket office located in front of Chonburi Stadium. Tickets are priced at 120 baht (side behind the door) and 200 baht for the roof-side seats starting from September 5, 2023.
