Rumors that Putin had issued a national mobilization order within the year were officially denied

The Kremlin has officially denied reports that Russian President Vladimir Putin will issue a national mobilization order later this year to resupply troops to be sent to the Ukrainian front.

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov told the Sputnik news agency on the 25th (local time) that “the media reports that President Putin will issue a mobilization order are not true.”

The report cited by spokesman Peskov is an article by Pravda, a Russian-language media outlet, about the recent announcement of the national mobilization order.

Pravda reported that Putin would issue a national mobilization order to replenish enlisted men and officers in a speech to the Federal Assembly by the end of the year.

The first time that President Putin issued a mobilization order in relation to the war in Ukraine was on September 21st.

It was a ‘partial mobilization order’ to conscript around 300,000 soldiers to be sent to the battlefield in Ukraine by the end of October.

Since then, there have been observations that Russia may further expand its troops.

“Russia is preparing to issue a second mobilization order in January next year,” said Anton Gerashenko, an adviser to Ukraine’s interior minister, in a recent tweet.
