Russian Claims Ukrainian Attack on Black Sea Fleet Headquarters in Crimea Was Supported by US and UK
27th April 2022 – In a recent announcement, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova alleged that Ukrainian forces successfully launched an attack on the headquarters of the Russian Black Sea Fleet in Crimea with the support of intelligence assets from the United States and Britain.
According to the Russian official, the assault was meticulously planned in advance, using advanced surveillance equipment such as North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) satellite systems and reconnaissance aircraft provided by Western nations.
Furthermore, Zakharova claimed that the missile strike was executed in close collaboration with American and British intelligence agencies.
The Ukrainian authorities declared that they conducted an airstrike on the Russian Black Sea Fleet headquarters on the 22nd of April, resulting in the deaths of 34 Russian officers, including the commander of the Black Sea Fleet, Viktor Sokolov.
However, Russia vehemently denied the extent of damage claimed by Ukraine, asserting that only one Russian soldier was unaccounted for in the aftermath of the bombing.
Russia claimed that Ukraine was able to attack the headquarters of the Russian Black Sea Fleet in Crimea because of the help of the United States and Britain.
According to AFP on the 27th local time, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said, “There is no doubt that the attack was planned in advance using Western intelligence assets and North Atlantic Treaty Organization satellite equipment and reconnaissance aircraft .”
He added, “The missile attack was carried out in close cooperation with the American and British intelligence agencies.”
