The Russian and Ukrainian delegations met at the Dolmabahce Palace in Istanbul, Turkey on the 29th local time.

The fifth peace talks lasted about four hours.

After the talks, Russia said it would cut military activity in major Ukrainian cities, including Kiiu.

It is a measure to increase trust between the two countries.

Ukraine could also accept the neutralization that Russia has been demanding if security is guaranteed.

As a security guarantee, Ukraine wants a collective defense treaty so that neighboring countries can help Ukraine in case of emergency.

The summit also discussed the summit between Russian President Putin and Ukrainian President Zelensky.

It is evaluated that some progress has been made compared to the previous talks that did not produce any clear results on the ceasefire.

President Zelensky has been vigilant, even though there are some positive signs.

In the West, including the US, Russia’s announcement is suspicious of the possibility of deception.

It appears to be withdrawing troops from the northern regions, but in reality it could be a ‘relocation’ to attack other regions.

On the same day, the Russian army announced that it would focus on military operations in the eastern Donbas region, and continued shelling the main building in the southern city of Mykolayu.

There is also a history of invasion after releasing a video of troops withdrawing from the Ukrainian border last month.

U.S. President Biden also said strong sanctions against Russia would continue.
