Moscow: Russia opposes granting asylum to Afghans by other countries. Russian President Vladimir Putin has spoken out against sending refugees to Central Asian countries. Putin claims that terrorists may have arrived from Afghanistan under the guise of refugees. Putin says sending refugees to Central Asian countries could pose a threat to Russia. The Russian president said the issue would be presented at a summit of the Collective Security Treaty Organization.

The day before, Putin had discussed the situation in Afghanistan with the ruler of Kazakhstan. Putin’s criticism of the US and NATO allies.

Sending Afghan refugees to neighboring countries was an idea put forward by some Western countries. Putin added that the Russian Foreign Ministry was giving top priority to the refugee problem.
