Kyiv: Russia is preparing to intensify its offensive in eastern Ukraine as the occupation enters its third month. Ukraine’s Defense Minister Oleksi Resnikov has warned that the situation could worsen in the coming days. He added that there was a possibility of major damage in the eastern region.

“The country is facing some very difficult days,” Resnikov said in a Facebook post. Russia has already deployed troops in eastern Ukraine. He said in the post that Russia would try to inflict painful damage on Ukraine.

He reminded the people that stronger resistance and unity are needed in the days to come. Meanwhile, Russian President Vladimir Putin has warned of a possible military backlash if any other country interferes in Ukraine’s military operations.
