[Russia 28th Reuters]–On the 28th, a Russian court ordered US Snap, which operates the dialogue app “WhatsApp” and photo editing sharing app “Snap Chat” under the umbrella of Meta Platforms, to pay a fine.

The reason is that he refused to store data about Russian users in the country. Several news agencies reported.

The fine for WhatsApp is 18 million rubles ($ 301,255). Snap was fined 1 million rubles. WhatsApp was ordered to pay a fine in August last year for the same reason.

Meta and snap comments have not been taken.

A Moscow court identified Meta as an “extremist organization” in March, but allowed WhatsApp to be used.
