(Istanbul = Yonhap News) Correspondent Cho Seong-heum = Seven civilians were killed in an airstrike in Russia last night, including three women who were killed in a Russian attack on a civilian aid center in Ukraine, Ukrainian authorities said on the 24th (local time) .
According to Reuters and the AFP news agency, a civilian aid station in Kostyantinivka in the Donetsk Oblast area of eastern Ukraine was attacked overnight by Russian rockets, the State Emergency Service of Ukraine said.
The National Emergency Service said: “The Costiantiniuca region was hit by rockets, and one of these rockets hit the one-story aid station.” Five people, including three women, died as a result.
The Ukrainian government operates around 4,000 relief centers across the country called “insurmountable points” for residents suffering from a lack of water, food, electricity and heat during the war.
It is said that one of the women who died this time stayed here after leaving Bahmut, the fiercest battlefield of the war.
Two people were also killed in airstrikes in the small town of Chasiuyar, west of Bakhmut, Donetsk Region, and in southern Kherson Region.
In the northeastern province of Sumy, government offices, schools and residential buildings were hit by airstrikes, resulting in many casualties, the Office of the President of Ukraine said.
Ukraine’s Air Force said Russia attacked several towns and villages in the Sumy region with missiles and drones.
The day before, Russia launched missile and drone strikes on the small southern towns of Rsiziu and Zaporizhia, killing at least nine people and injuring around 30 others. A high school dormitory was hit in Rsiziou and an apartment building in Zaporizhia was hit.
