[22日 ロイター] – The Russian General Staff, General Gerasimov, said on Thursday that the Ukrainian front is stable and that the Russian military is focused on completing the “liberation” of the Donetsk region in eastern Ukraine.

“The situation on the front line has stabilized. Russian forces are focused on completing the liberation of the territory of the Donetsk People’s Republic,” Gerasimov said in a year-end message to troops stationed abroad issued by the Ministry of Defense.

Russia controls almost all of Luhansk Oblast in eastern Ukraine, but only about 60% of Donetsk Oblast. Since August, the battle for Bakhmut in the Donetsk region has continued.
