Ryu Hyun-jin, starting 3rd starter sortie…berios starter [MK현장]

Ryu Hyun-jin (35) of the Toronto Blue Jays will start as the third starter.
Toronto Blue Jays coach Charlie Montoyo announced the opening rotation at a meeting with reporters at the Player Development Complex (PDC) in Dunedin, Florida on the 1st (Korean time).
“It may change with the weather, but we will go to Jose Verrios, Kevin Gaussman, Hyunjin Ryu, Alec Manoa and Yusei Kikuchi,” he said.

As a result, Hyun-Jin Ryu will start the season with three starters. His first appearance in the series will be the final of the series against the Texas Rangers at the Rogers Center on April 11th at 2:37 a.m.
Hyun-Jin Ryu started as a starter in the opening game for three consecutive years since 2019 when he was in the Los Angeles Dodgers. But this season, he gave way to Jose Verrios.
It is the result of Verios doing well rather than Ryu Hyunjin’s failure. Berios had 5 wins, 4 losses and a 3.58 ERA in 12 games when he transferred during last season. At the end of the season, he signed a seven-year, $131 million contract extension.

In an interview with reporters earlier, Ryu Hyun-jin said, “I have no regrets. As I always said, I don’t care about the order. Whether it’s the 1st or 5th, going out is the same.”
