Malayalee S Somnath will be the chairman of ISRO. Vikram Sarabhai is currently the Director of the Space Center at Thiruvananthapuram. S. Somnath is a native of Aroor, Alappuzha. Somnath, an engineer, has excelled in rocket technology as well. Dr. Madhavan Nair and Dr. K. Radhakrishnan are the other Malayalees who came to head the ISRO. At present, Dr. S. Sivan is the head of ISRO.
