Duncan Crabtree-Ireland, SAG-AFTRA national executive director and chief negotiator, said the agreement puts in place “the necessary AI guardrails that defend performers’ livelihoods in the AI age, alongside other critically important gains.”
SAG-AFTRA president Fran Drescher lauded the “amazing courage and persistence” of the video game performers. “The needle has been moved forward and we are much better off than before,” Drescher said.
The terms of the deal will be reviewed by SAG’s National Board and then put to a vote by SAG-AFTRA members. Details will be released with the ratification materials. A strike suspension agreement with the video game companies is expected soon, but SAG-AFTRA members will remain on strike until a final deal is reached.
