sahal abdul samad: Sahal was about to leave for a European club, which is why the move failed; Report out

Malayalee midfielder Sahal Abdul Samad is the proud star of ISL club Kerala Blasters FC. Sahal, who has been with the Blasters since 2017, has been an integral part of the team ever since. Sahal, who is improving his performance every season, has been hailed as one of the future superstars of Indian football. It has been reported that Sahal, one of the best players in the country, is currently on the verge of joining the Icelandic club, but the move did not materialize at the last minute.

The club was on the scene to acquire Sahal

IBV Westmanner, an Icelandic club, has been linked with a move to Sahal for a short loan. Herman, David James’ former head coach of the Kerala Blasters, is currently the head coach of the Icelandic club. Indications are that the club reached Sahal through Herman.

The deal did not happen

The Icelandic club wanted to bring Sahal to the team and the Kerala Blasters wanted to send the player on loan. Discussions were held between the two groups in this regard. Sahal was also happy with the move. But visa issues and work permit rules prevented the move from happening. On the contrary, Sahal’s dream of playing in Europe would have come true if these things had been positive.

What the Sporting Director of Kerala Blasters has to say about the move

“We wanted to send Sahal on loan until the end of August, but the difficulty of the visa and the work permit rules prevented him from being sent for such a short period.” Said Carolis Skinkis, the Blasters’ sporting director.

Speaking to the Times of India, Skinkis said that they had the option of sending Sahal to Slovakia as well. However, he added that the move did not materialize due to changes in the club.

Says Sahal’s agent

Baljit Rihal, CEO of Inventive Sports, Sahal’s agency, says that Herman, the coach of the Icelandic club, was the first to approach them with a move to acquire Sahal on loan. He said that IBV’s interest in Sahal made them very happy, adding that Sahal would be in the starting XI and they believed that Sahal was a player who could make an impact in the game very quickly.

“Playing in Europe is the dream of any Indian player. Sahal is no different. He was very excited about this project and so are we as an agency. There will be more opportunities like this in the future.” Baljit Rihal said and stopped.

Performance of the club on the stage for Sahal

At the same time, despite being the leading club in Iceland, the condition of IBV Westman’s Club, who came on board for Sahal this season, is deplorable. The club, which plays in the Icelandic Premier League, are bottom of the points table with 4 draws and 6 defeats after 10 games in the league stage. IBV is a club where former Kerala Blasters coach David James and former Premier League club West Ham United coach David Moyes have played.

Sahal’s performance

Sahal, 25, is one of the integral parts of the Kerala Blasters. The player, who joined the club in 2017, has a contract here until 2025. The youngster, who has played 74 games for the Blasters so far, has scored seven goals and set up seven.
